Brief Introduction:
The cultures of China and Egypt have drawn visitors for thousands of years. Their amazing art, artifacts, cultures and people never fail to leave the people who visit them spellbound. This tour features the best that these amazing countries have to offer. In Cairo you will visit the Great Pyramids and Sphinx. In Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, you will feel dwarfed by the colossus of Rameses II. Beijing’s Forbidden City will show you the majesty of the Emperors of China. The Terracotta Warriors that caught the world’s attention when they were discovered in the 1970’s will inspire you with their artistry and sheer numbers. While cruising down the Yangtze River, you will marvel at the cultural wonders that are exposed to you. This tour was designed as a showcase for China and Egypt’s amazing history and cultures.
Trip Highlights:








Day 01: Arrival/Cairo (D)
Special Dinner: Nile Dinner Cruise
Upon arriving at the Cairo International Airport, your guide will meet you and escort you by private car to your hotel to relax until the evening, when your driver will take you to the dock for your Nile Dinner Cruise. You will cruise down the Nile River on a large ship watching the city of Cairo pass by while enjoying a fantastic dinner buffet. After dinner you will be thrilled with a folklore performance followed by belly dancing. After the performances, feel free to go to the upper decks to enjoy the fresh night air and the beautiful city lights. After your cruise your driver will pick you up and take you back to your hotel.
Day 02: Cairo/Memphis/Sakkara (B, L)
After breakfast you will be driven to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient world, the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. You will then be driven to the Sakkara Necropolis home of the famous Step Pyramid, the earliest Egyptian pyramid. After visiting the necropolis, you will be driven to Memphis, the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. You will visit the giant Statue of Ramses II and the 80 ton Alabaster Sphinx. After your day’s adventures you will be driven back to your hotel.
Day 03: Cairo/Beijing (B, L)
In the morning your guide will meet you and help you check out of your hotel. You will then be taken to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, home to 5,000 years of art and the treasures of King Tut. In the afternoon you will be taken to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, famous for its brass and copper wares, perfumes, leather, silver, and gold. In the evening you will be escorted to the Cairo International Airport for your flight to Beijing.
Day 04 Beijing
Upon arriving at the Beijing airport your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore China’s capital city on your own.
Day 05 Beijing (B, L, D)
Special Dinner: Peking Roast Duck
In the morning you will visit Beijing’s magnificent Forbidden City, which is the largest palace structure in the world and the place where China’s emperors ruled for over 500 years. In the afternoon, you will marvel at Beijing's splendid Temple of Heaven, where China’s emperors annually went to pray to heaven and for good harvests. In the evening you will be taken out for an incredible Peking Duck Dinner.
Day 06 Beijing (B, L)
On this day you will visit one of the most amazing architectural feats in the world, the majestic Great Wall (Mutianyu Section). After your visit to the Great Wall you will be taken to the Sacred Road, which is a path lined with stone statues of animals, mystical beasts and officials who will serve the emperors of the Ming Dynasty in the afterlife.
Day 07 Beijing/Xian (B, L)
After breakfast, you will visit the exquisite Summer Palace, the imperial summer resort. With its perfect design, magnificent buildings, and enchanting landscape, it is the largest and most splendid classical garden in China. In the afternoon you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Xian. Upon arriving in Xian, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out to discover what this amazing city has to offer.
Day 08 Xian (B, L, D)
Special Dinner: Dumpling Banquet
Unique Cultural Performance: Tang Dynasty Show
In the morning you will visit the incredible life-size Terracotta Warriors, one of the greatest architectural wonders in the world. After lunch, you will visit Xian’s Ancient City Walls the best preserved city walls in China. You will then visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and temple. The magnificent pagoda was built to house ancient Buddhist relics. Complete the day with a savory Dumpling Banquet and the Tang Dynasty show both located at Shaanxi Grand Opera Theatre.
Day 09 Xian/Chongqing (B, L)
After breakfast, you will tour The Great Mosque, which built over 1,200 years ago is one of the largest and oldest mosques in China. You will then visit the surrounding Muslim community before being escorted to the airport for your flight to Chongqing. Upon your arrival in Chongqing, the largest city in Southwest China, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore the city of Chongqing.
Day 10 Chongqing/Dazu/Embark your ship (B, L)
After breakfast you will be driven to the Dazu Rock Carvings in Dazu County (about 2.5 hours) where you will visit two of its major sections, the Beishan Grottoes and Baoding Grottoes. These stunning grottos are exemplary examples of Buddhist grotto carving. You will then be driven back to Chongqing to board your Yangtze River cruise ship.
Day 11 Yangtze cruise (B, L, D)
In the morning you will have a shore excursion to the architectural marvel Shibaozhai, which is a rocky hill with extremely steep sides. Leaning against the side of the hill is an ancient red nine floor pavilion which provides access to the temple located on the top of the hill.
Day 12 Yangtze cruise (B, L, D)
After breakfast you will have an excursion to the Lesser Three Gorges by smaller vessels. The Lesser Three Gorges is one of the most popular sites along the Yangtze River. It is a series of gorges on the Daning River covered with forests and bamboo groves.
Day 13 Yichang /Beijing (B, L)
On this morning you will have a shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam. After lunch you will disembark in Yichang. Upon arriving in Yichang, your guide will meet you and escort you to the airport for your flight to Beijing. You will then transfer to your flight to your next destination.
