Day 1: Arrival / Guilin
Upon your arrival in Guilin, the most scenic city in China, your personal guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into this lovely city for a little adventure on your own.
Day 2: Guilin / Longsheng / Guilin (B/L)
Today's excursion will bring you to Longsheng Autonomous County. After your tour of this breathtaking area, you will be driven back to Guilin (2-hour drive).
- Longsheng Autonomous County: home to many different ethnic minority groups such as Zhuang, Yao, Miao and Dong. In recent years, this county has become a popular destination for photography enthusiasts and people interested in minority culture. On this tour you will not only enjoy the wonderful view of terraced rice paddies at Longji, but also be amazed by the rich culture of the Zhuang and Yao people.
- Longji: means "Dragon's Backbone". When climbing to the top of it and looking down at the terraced rice fields, you will have the feeling that you are standing on a dragon's back as the terraced rice paddies, looking like the shining dragon scales, surround you.
- The Zhuang People: with a population of over 17 million people, the Zhuang ethnic minority group is the largest ethnic minority group in China.
- The Yao People: another major ethnic group living in the Guilin area that has a population of over 2 million people throughout China. Yao women are believed to have the longest hair in the world.
Day 3: Guilin / Yangshuo (B/L)
After breakfast, you will be driven to Zhujiang Pier (40-minute drive) to start your boat cruise down the picturesque Li River, which is the highlight of any visit to Guilin, until you get to Yangshuo County. Along the river, you will be inspired by breathtaking views of peaks and pinnacles, crystal-clear water and picturesque pastoral views of rice paddies and water buffaloes. Visitors feel they have stepped into a traditional Chinese painting. After checking into your hotel, you will be free to explore Yangshuo and its famous West Street.
- Yangshuo County: founded in 590 AD, Yangshuo County has been booming because of tourism. With so many beautiful mountains surrounding, it is described as "the world of green lotus and jade bamboo shoots".
- West Street: a busy and exotic stone paved street in Yangshuo County, about 2km long crammed with shops, pubs, and cafés, where visitors can relax and do some souvenir shopping.
Day 4: Yangshuo / Guilin / Departure (B/L)
Today, you will be driven back to Guilin (1.5-hour drive), where you will tour Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill and Reed Flute Cave before your guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
- Elephant Trunk Hill: the symbol of Guilin, a karst rock formation, resembling a giant elephant drinking water from the Li River.
- Fubo Hill: a hill located on the beautiful Li River, where visitors can see hundreds of statues of the Buddha left over 1000 years ago in the Returned Pearl Cave and have a birds' eye view of the City of Guilin from the top.
- Reed Flute Cave: 5 kilometers away from the city center, famed as "A Natural Palace of Art". The cave is filled with stalactites & stalagmites in a myriad of bizarre shapes. It is a showcase of nature's splendor.
