Day 2: Bangkok
Begin your city tour with discovering Bangkok with your private tour guide and driver. Come to the colorful flower and vegetable market to experience real local life at first. Daily use flowers from other parts of the country are sold at wholesale prices at this biggest flower market in the city. The market also has sections that sell vegetables, fruits, spices, and herbs. You can find chili peppers in all sizes and colors. Your next visit in the morning is the renowned Grand Palace, one of the must-sees that adjoin Wat Phra Kaew, the most important Buddhist temple in Thailand.
Have lunch at a local restaurant near Grand Palace. After lunch, your trip continues with a long-tail boat ride along the canal to see Thai houses and typical rural life. Bangkok was once known as the “Venice of the east” and this long-tailed boat tour takes you through its canals, locally known as Khlongs to explore greener and more peaceful part of Bangkok. Leave the hassle of the city behind as you travel to the area where people live in houses on stilts and still travel by boat along the canals.
The last stop for today is Wat Arun, perhaps better known as the Temple of the Dawn, which is one of the most published images of Bangkok.
Note: The Grand Palace in Bangkok will be closed several times in each year due to Thai Royal activities.
